Fork seals

How do you take them off?

I've tried with my best flat screwdriver, only managed to slightly mark the fork tube :( The seal doesn't want to move at all...

I think . . .

you need a special tool to take em out AND another to put em back in again - should really try and avoid the srewdriver - as that bit of the fork tube sits on the seal - I also think that the seal has a metal ring running through it.

Stand to be corrected!!

Have you picked out the wire retaining ring? It sits in a groove just above the seal.

Yes Nelly, that one came off easily with a small flat screwdriver. Now there is only the seal left I think.

No way I can take it off without the special tools? :(
