I'm having a blond day Before Glyn gets time to post this, I'd like to make my excuses for not turning up at his place of work at the appointed time this morning. Simple explanation, from someone whose simplicity not only borders on stupid, but has, on this occasion, to be described as completely stupid, and blond. No offence to blondes out there but this is what I'm having to deal with. Two bike keys on Ducati Aylesbury fobs. Unplugged optimate from 749 and put the key in the ignition. Yellow light. First thought, must be something to do with the optimate because the battery light was on and there was a '12V' display on the screen. Typical, just when I'm in a hurry. So, took the pillion seat off the 749, put it in my ruck sack, planning to ride the Monster up to Northampton so at least I get to Glyn. I'd tried to ring him but his phone was going straight to answerphone. B*gger me, same thing happened when I tried to start the Monster. How can this be???? Just then, Glyn phoned to ask when I was going to get there. Cutting it a bit fine by now if I was to make the EGM at 11 am. "You are using the right key on the right bike, aren't you?" he says (obviously not able to believe for one minute that anyone could be this dumb but possibly worth suggesting, as he knows me quite well now). Err, no! I wasn't. And yes, I do wonder how I've got to this stage in life being this thick. Both bikes actually working fine but now it's too late to get to Glyn and give him time to do a proper job, so I shall try again next Saturday, barring further incidents of disengaged brain on my part. Cheers Glyn. If I only had the power of logical thought, I'd be dangerous. And I'm only posting this now before Glyn has time to get to a computer and put the post up with his version of just how dumb a Ducati rider can be. ;) |
Ruth you should blame it on being still half a sleep after getting up early to watch the GP quallifying. Thats what I would have done. |
B*gger - I've missed that too! It's not in my nature to blame anything other than myself when things go wrong, Skids. This is because, in my experience, 99% of the time it is actually my fault. :) |
Ruth, at least it wasnt the old kill switch being off......................... done the key thing myself last year:( |
Well Ruth I can't believe you can put it down to you being Stupid because your clearly not. More likely a first thing in the morning moment before the caffine has kicked in and cleared your head allowing it to deal with logical thought. Stll Moto GP qually was well worth getting up for |
When I had a Triumph Sprint RS and the 999, more than once I couldn't get the Triumph to start on a Monday morning because I'd forgotten that you had to hold the clutch in. I'm not good at mornings... Monday morning doubley so... |
i wasn't going to say a word just glad to be of help:D daft mare:frog:  |

Oh really! Thanks for the endorsement. Knew I could rely on you to confirm that I'm a woman who clearly doesn't know her limits. At least I knew when the consultation meeting was, though :frog: |

So did I, sadly it was right in the middle of my working day At least I have tomorrow off and can head for Mallory after I've watched Moto GP, I'm sure I will be able to get one of the bikes in the garage started. |
I'm just glad I'm a man and can only think of one thing at a time( I think) |
