Chain Splitting Advice Quick!! I'm in the process of fitting a new chain using a MOtion chain breaker type tool borrowed off a mate. Iver put the chain on, pushed the pins through, but cant figure out which bit to use to fold the ends of the pins over. any ideas - quick!!! |
I use a hammer. Sorry not much help |
hammer, hmm. if you knew how clumsy I am with a hammer you would have never have suggested that. but, since its the only bit of advice anyones offered me..... |
never heard of that make of breaker! should there be a sharp pointy that goes in place of the bit that pushes the plates on? not sure if it's on yours? but ones i have seen the point goes against the end of the pin and screwing it in splays out the end of the pin . hope that helps a bit !!!! |
Daft question, but why not ask the friend you borrowed it from, he must have used it before???? Chris:burn: |
unfortunately he bought it and has never actually used it himself, so doesnt know! |
one write up here: http://www.webbikeworld.com/t2/motor...hain-sprocket/ but this is better: http://www.fireblades.org/forums/art...blackbird.html Good luck - Frank Damn.. you need to be a member to view the pics on the fireblade forum.... So....I had a look through the Chain manufacturers websites - Regina came up trumps: http://www.reginachain.it/eng/use_an...ow_to06c.shtml Hope it works ;) |
