Jody Sheckter World Cup Donington early 80,s
 

Showing a bit of age here but does anyone remeber this meeting in i think 1981 and 1982 at Donington park end of season.Full Grand Prix grid including Roberts ,MAmola Sheene,Uncini,Luchenelli etc.First 2 stroke ride for R haslam i seem to remeber for Honda on the NS 500 triple.

Where would i find out more about it.

Oh yes i was only 6 at the time and my Dad told me about it lol

Dont remember that one,...but I do remember the 'World of Sport Superbike Challenge' of the same era.
I think Rocket Ron was on the Pharoah Yam back then.Wayne Gardner was on the high barred Moriwaki Kawasaki.
Mamola won the race at Donington,...did a celebration wheelie on the back straight and could'nt stop for the esses!:eek:

I was being born in 1981, so I don't recall that one ;)

I do love watching videos of some of the old races though, the Transatlantic at Donington and Fast Freddie Spencer and Lawson going at it on those horrible old tyres and bikes that looked like Superdreams :D Awesome stuff.

I was there for that, I seem to remember they did it for about three years, Jody did demo laps in a JPS F1 car. It's such a shame there are no meetings like that anymore. Better than the Transatlantic challenge in some ways as you got riders from all countries.
