Recalls ?

having just read another thread about charging problems and ChrisQ mentioned recalls, which made me wonder if there somewhere we can find what if any recalls relate to specific bike models/ frame/engine numbers

Interesting that - I punched in my ST4s (2001) and it only comes up with 2 recalls re the airbox breather hose - yet - I have in my files a letter from Ducati re a urgent safety recall - items:

a) throttle spacer and counterweight required - (jamming open)
b) replace clutch cylinder - (incorrect actuation)

Letter dated Feb2002 from Ducati UK.

and these are not on that site so one wonders how accurate and reliable the data contained thereon is?

Then again, Ducati aren't so clever either...

My 98 ST2 was bought new by my cousin and never changed hands or addresses.
I checked with Ducati UK a couple of weeks ago and the bike was down for 3 recalls (generator shim, front sprocket plate & frame check).
These had never been received by my cousin and were completely unknown to us.

My advise is to ring Ducati UK (0845 1 222996); keep plugging away until you actually get through to a human, and then check yourself to make sure there is nothing overdue on your bike. It won't cost you anything but the phone call, and that's at local rate.
