998s ride height/front sag settings
 
Just curious I have my front sag at 27mm (std 20mm) (rear ride height 245mm - all other setting by 100% suspension - very good bloke!)-I run the std 120/70 190/50 tyres

Changing the front sag has improved the turn in but made it less stable (surprise surprise!) - anyone else tried fiddling withy the front sag?

Just curious??

I have a lot of front end sag but I put it down to a love of good food!

I'd be tempted, if it's quickening up turn in your after, to think about junking 190/50 and replacing with 180/55.............will do much more for you. try it when current tyre wears out?

I run the front sag on my 996 at 30mm and the rear at 10mm with the rideheight set at 245mm.
But as the forks have been reworked with different internals and fitted in adjustable offset yoke to complement the longer Mag swingarm I'm not sure how a standard bike with these settings will behave

Slidlids - sounds pretty much how my bikes set up less 3mm off the front & no mag bits!

Thinking I might try 24mm sag on the front to calm it down a bit........

dont forget its more than the mags bits, they're also longer, which makes up for head angles etc etc

Chef says his bike is less stable but I have addressed that problem in the same way as the factory race bikes did, by increasing the wheel base, altering the weight bias and altering the trail.
To an extent I have slowed down the steering but this is then compensated for by the longer bars, lighter wheels and a softly set steering damper.
