pictures hosted by the DSC board again as the title says is there any way we can have pics on the board like we used to before we changed over to the new one just had a look at Rush jobs thread about changing his side panels to quick release and its really helpful and informative there used to be loads of stuff like that on here, and I just wander if its been made a bit to difficult with having to get them hosted yourself elsewhere. I did loads of pictures myself in threads like THE BIG BUILD that will all of been lost now and if Rush Job runs out of space on his host we will lose valuable information for others to see again What do others think ? |
Use the Gallery option on the top menu bar. Any problems let us know ! Eamonn |
sorry Eamonn I am well aware of that option and have used it to its max it sucks well that's a bit harsh its ok for a few glory shots but its not much good to those out there who put up helpful pictures of builds or work they are doing sure it may get a bit clogged up but in my opinion its invaluable to the club just interested to see what everyone else thinks |
From my understanding if we are to host the pictures it will take up considerable space which can be costly and can slow down the running of the forum. There are loads of free hosting sites that can be linked to and also allow people to use their pictures in other locations or just keep them for posterity. I guess it would be possible to allow a limited storage per user and when this is exeeded you have to go back and delete old pictures, but this would then mean pictures were lost as per your original comments. |

Hello Keefer Just another idea, you can always save the page, with pictures to pdf format, then use acrobat reader to view them. you will need a virtual pdf printer installed on your pc I use this one http://www.go2pdf.com/index.html The website should have a holding section for pdf's regards TopiToo |
