Fork oil levels

Hi All
Just having a play with a set of forks from a 2001 monster ( showa)
With the advice of Colin at 100% suspension I have managed to sort the springing and modified the damping, Now we know the oil grade we need but are not sure on the air gap level as standard, springs in/out etc
Any help greatly recieved.
PS if this works i will be posting destructions for all to see.

I'll check the Haynes when I get back to dads later and give you a buzz if you don't have any luck

Fork oil level

I had problems with oil level earlier in the year. Too full and the forks locked up half way down their travel.
Took some advice from Maxton and others.
With the stantions fully down, all springs and spacers removed from the damper rods the air gap I use is 110mm.
I was told that this could be altered to suit personnal taste to some degree, but small changes can make a quite a difference in feel.
Got to play I guess.

Thanks guys
They seem like the marzocchi fork settings we used last yaer, these are the showa forks fitted to the 2001 mony dark, you cant fill them with the springs removed as trhey are hely together by the drain bolt at the bottom of the fork,
Time for a little experimenting me thinks
Thanks again
Glyn

anyone got a haynes for the later forks ??
