What is a good tyre? I've got an S4R and the Michelin Pilot tyres have had better day's. Before I buy new I was looking for anyones preference for tyre choice and why? Fitted with 120x70 front 180x55 rear Do about 1500-2000 miles/yr and want to get the most from the bike. |
Well, I'm buying Diablos for all mine now. They just feel so comfortable whether its p*ssing down or dry in a race or on the road. I've got bridgestones, michelins and other pirellis with snot up to the edges, and the diablos are my choice now. In fact, if I were to compare them I would say they feel like my classic race bike rubber - always more grip than you would expect. |
Thanks Phil, however What brand of Diablo's, looks like they do more than one type? Pirelli Diablo Corsa III Pirelli Diablo Corsa Pirelli Diablo Strada ?????? |
Unless you're into lots of track days or a hot summer's back roads hero I'd go for standard Diablo's, even on an S4R. Well satisfied with them on my MultiStrada. |
I've never managed to trouble my standard Diablos on road or track, as I've said often enough, if they could talk they would just turn round and sneer "Is that all you've got boy". So, Paul996, since I've ridden with you on the road, I can tell that they'd probably say the same to you. Mind you, with your mileage, depending on how hard you are on tyres I would say A rear Corsa III would last you 1 year + A rear Diablo would last you 2 years + A rear Strada would last you 3 years + |
Paul, the last time we went out it was pretty creasy, you had more moments than i did and I was on standard Diablo's . 4D |
Looks like a thumbs up for the standard Diablo's, cheers guy's Anyone know where to get them at a bargin price. Only looking for delivery, can get them fitted free. |

Sounds Great Thanks Chris :D |
Isn't the new Corsa III an attempt to offer the best of everything??? Great grip on the sides and great mileage down the center?? |
