Resticking no boards For those of us who have signed up to the two wheel equivilent of putting a spoiler on the back of your car ......... how do you restick them down when they lift ( and if yours hasn't yet, it will) This is just before I ripp the bugger off, and accept that it was 60 squid wasted... |
Not sure I want this thread to continue.... I just 'ripped' mine off!!! :( |
So I take it that's a no then....... Ok .... tonite I rip the bugger off..... |
How long have you had it? Mine started lifting after about a week so I took it back and got some other bits instead! |
If you get in touch with the guy who markets them, they will send you replacements. There is a thread to that effect that i started some time back. I rang up the company and they sent me a gold border and a grey border one back. They said there was a problem with either the sticky or the thickness of the board. If you cant find it let me know and i will see if i still have the details, but dont throw 60 sobs down the pan. Red PS my replacement has not come unstuck and its been on nearly a year, and i used the bike through the winter jet washing it every week. |
If you have the lifting effect in the small creases either side of the screen. Just peel back the number board clean the paintwork underneath and apply a small bead of silicone sealant (the type you use in showers, etc). Gently press the numberboard back down expelling all th bubbles and wipe off the excess. Hey presto perfect, and the water can't get back under to lift it again. Sorted |

I will ring the maunfacturers and see what they suggest ..... If not it might be one of two options a) rip it off b) Silicon it on! |
no boards Hi, I thought that £60-£70 was a lot of money for a no board, so I used a piece of white vinyl which I got from a vehicle graphics company (off cut, cost £0). It took about 2 hours to fit to the nose, with the help of a hair dryer. Then used gold pin strip to edge it with. It's been on the bike about 8 months now, and looks as good as the day I put it on.Total cost £3 for the pin strip.;) |
Badge for you young man!! Now thats what I call Blue Petering the problem! Congratulations Custard, I reckon that looks excellent, and I only wish I'd thought of doing that before I spent my £60 on one. |
You didn't happen to make a template did you ? |
