748r mono subframe fittment?

Guys

would i have any issues fitting a mono subframe from a 748r to a 748bp.

I understand there maybe issues with locating the ecu etc?

Will i need new seat release, bolts, spacers, light bracket etc to fit a mono seat.

Cheers

Chris.

what do you have now?
a mono seat?

if so you will need to change the bracket thats about all,

to fit a mono seat to a bip frame you need an angled bracket and spacers, assuming you or someone else has already done this, you just need to return it to std with a flat bracket and no spacers ie shorter screws

if you have a bip seat then i dont belive that it will mount on the mono frame

I was really wanting to know if I will have any problems fitting the 748r sub frame.

I currenlty have a bp frame and seat. However i have a mono seat ready to fit so I would also like to change the frame.

In this case I was told I would have to extend the loom to get the ecu to mount as the mount on the mono 748r frame are different to the bp!

On the alloy Mono subframe for the 748R the 1.6M Ecu sits across the back of it, rotated 90 degress from the plain in which it sits on the BP subframe, this means the multiway connector is slightly futher back, a bit of careful rerouting of the injection harness can be done to allow it to cope with this extra distance, although repositioning of the air temp sensor or lengthening its 2 wires may be required.
I haven't done it myself but I know Karl the Oxon/Berks RO has done it

I tried to do this on my "S" but the big connector came up short no matter how carefully I routed the cables, so I just gave up in the end, life's to short!

John did your S have the later temp sensor unit that does away with the MAP sensor on top of the header tank
