for forks sake I need help, I have been told that you can't get different rated fork springs for a 999S with the ohlils forks and if I can does any one know the standard rating for a 999S biposta, I think the biposta is not the same as the mono, the rear works with a different spring, The only spring I have been offered is a progressive hyper pro. so please please help me out. any info would help. just to know ohlins do a selection would help. :flame: :burn: :burn: |
Who told you that? Sounds like a load of cobblers to me. Why can't you get different rated springs? As far as I know, they come with 9 or 9.5's and you can change them to whatever suits you. |
I was told this by JHS Racing. How sure are you? Do you know anywhere I can get an ohlins spring? Many thanks. |
I'm no suspension expert, give Nelly or JHP a call, they'll be able to advise you better. But the point is, its a normal cartridge type fork assembly, why wouldn't the springs be changeable? And why do you want to change them? Softer or heavier? |
Give these guys a ring, sure they will put you on the right path. http://www.k-tech.uk.com/ Chris:burn: |
well I'm not a light weight and I do when I'm playing about pull the brake hard and to stop the forks bottoming out I need to put in a spring with a heavier spring rate, thanks chris I'll give them a go after xmas :flame: :burn: :burn: |
yes you can,usually they will come with a 9.5kg spring,you can go up or down,in half kilo intervals,you can also,say have a 9.5kg,in one leg,and a 9kg,in the other,so your average is 9.25kg,for fine tuning etc,its very common,doing this with racing ! |
well that's what I thought, you know what it's like, you what somthing but you end up knowing more than most experts, ps I ant mud slinging, I got a rear all right, I went by the list's you have I bet but when you look at the three lists on the web thier all for the rearshock, simon if you know better plase say, you sound like you might, thanks :flame: :burn: :burn: |
