Knackered Clutch Hi, I have a 99 Duc996 Bip. The clutch has recently stoped working - by this I mean that there is nothing in the lever. I've replaced the master cylinder, slave cylinder, put a new line on, replaced both the bleed nipples and it worked for about 50 miles then the lever went spongy until finally I had no clutch at all. Has anyone got any clues for me ?? Cheers |
Hmm,sounds like a hydraulic problem, like air in the system or a faulty piston seal in the master cylinder.I guess that there are no fluid leaks? As you have replaced most of the hydraulic items, have a look at the clutch itself. Are all the plates and pressure plate properly installed? What about the push rod that goes through the motor, its not unusual for the pressure plate bearing to seize and grind the push rod down.:o |
Hi Eubank, I agree with Keefyboy if you have sorted the hydraulics you need to check the clutch. it could also be the push rod seized in the main shaft. I have seen this before Hope you sort it soon Mark |
Knackered Clutch Thanks guys, I'll strip it down this week and have a look. Cheers. |
Kanckered Clutch Thanks Guys, The bearing that pushes the rod from the slave cylinder to the clutch had seized! cheers |
