Testastretta rockers OK?

Has anyone come across rocker problems on a 998 or a 999?

Thanks,

Ray

Funny that you should ask that as I did a check of part numbers for the opening and closing rockers on the ST4s, 996, 748, 749, 999s, 998, 999. (ww.Ducati.com)

All opening and closing rockers on 996 (2000), ST4s (2001-2004), 748 (2000-2002) are the same part numbers.

However 749, 999s, 999 (2003-2004) are different part numbers with the opening rockers on the 2004 749s different again.

One could thus assume that hopefully "flaky rocker syndrome" on the testastretta motors has been resolved.

I'm new to this site and am looking at buying a 749s next year, however the horror stories on this board have lead me to do some research before forking out hard earned cash

I think there was a "rumour" that a few had failed, but I think that's all it was.
The rockers are different for the testastretta heads. The oil feed has also been improved as this was one of the big problems on the older heads.

my triple 9 is off to Sigma Performance this saturday for some engine work.

3k on the clock. I'll let you know if they find anything wrong with the cams/rockers.

I'm having them "Superteched" at the same time as the other work is being done, for peace of mind - only £125, bargain IMO.

My 748 has just come back from sigma. What a top job. Its had a full monty service and 853 kit. Im just running it in at the moment. All i can say is....what a change. Well worth the mods and the engine has much more grunt now.
