SuperTeching Rockers

Does anyone know if SuperTeching a set of 996 rockers actually stops the rot? If my rockers are OK today, but vulnerable, will the treatment mean they will not fail in the "Not our problem" ducati way?

I have read the Sigma and SuperTech sites and it's not clear if this is a cure for the "at risk" rockers or a "belt and braces" insurance on a highly stressed part.

Regards,

Rob

My understanding of the process is that it increases the wear resistance of the OEM plating thereby extending the life of the component.

I do not believe that it is a miracle cure for failing rockers mind you, and I do not know how long it actually prolongs the life of parts suffering from oil starvation.

It could be that using a higher spec oil and applying the 90 sec warm-up rule has the same effect.

Combining all 3 should mean peace of mind for the life of the bike.

Relatively, it is not an expensive process given the cost of just 1 rocker.

Has anyone out there had components treated in this way and have they lasted significantly longer than those left untreated?

Makes you wonder why Ducati don't treat the OEM parts in the same way during manufacture, mmm........

A spy in the camp!

Just hope there's a sensible reserve price.....

Mmmm.....

My last few bids on the bodywork were immediately beaten.

Drew the line at £400 - maybe worth more than that to someone else.

Same thing happened a couple of weeks ago. Low and behold I received a second chance email today offering me that part at my last bid price!

You never know same thing might happen this time too!!
