spragg clutch

how long should the spragg clutch last as i seem to need my third since 853 engine was built?

It can be a pretty unquantifiable element in truth.
The likely extra compression will take it's toll on the bearing but after three, I'd take a look at the driven face of the starter gear itselff.
If this is getting worn, the then sprag bearing could be getting unecessary blame levelled at it??

ive been told it takes about 3 hrs to do is this true?

ive been told th peartechometer(not sur about spelling) is also knackred and its only been on the bike about 2000 miles should this go so quick

cheers nelly

3 hours is about right. The water and oil need dropping etc.

I'm guessing you mean potentiometer?? this'll probably be the throttle sensor?
2000 miles isn't long at all, but it's electronics..........could last forever, could fail quite soon.
2000 miles isn't much at all, and if it was new, I'd haggle for a warranty replacement??

cheers nelly for your replays and yes it is the potentiometer

cheers
