Torque Wrench

Looking to buy one very soon, does anyone know what torque range I should be looking at? 1/2" or 3/4" drive etc

Thanx!

You'd be lucky to find a decent torque wrench that covers the whole range for a duc, bearing in mind those little 8mm jobbies just need a bit of a squeeze and that wheel nut takes more of a HEAVE. Snap-on do a rather lovely 20Nm - 100Nm which covers quite a lot. Pretty expensive though but you do get what you pay for and the vans often have "special offers" which can take some of the sting out. They also do a nice low scale (5Nm - 20Nm) wrench for small fasteners....you know the ones that get over tightened and the thread strips! Both are 3/8 drive which IMHO is best for bikey type stuff.

I don't think that you'd have a lot of call for a 3/4" one DJ.

The biggest that I use on the bike is a 1/2" drive which is man enough to tighten the rear wheel nut (c.186Nm)

got mine from Halfords 10nm to 60nm ok for most things apart from front spindle nut (though its only 5nm short for this so i do it up to 60nm) and rear wheel nut haven't taken the rear wheel off yet .

not a bad quality item either
