Renthal Ally Rear Sprockets
 

Has anyone had experience of these? I am going to change the gearing and like the Renthal products but I have never used an ally rear on a road bike.

How do they stand up to wear? Is this a really dumb idea?

I have Renthal carriers on both my race bike and my road bike and have had no problems with either of them, I have been using Renthal alloy rear sprockets for 16 years without any problems, use to have them specially made for the Moto-Martin and my original Harris with Astralite wheels, all my race bikes have used them, CBR600, Fireblades, TL1000S, R6 and the 916. keep them lubed and they wear really well.

I've got a 41 tooth hard anodized one on my SuperLight.

Having said that I've only had it on there for about 50 miles so I've got no idea how hard wearing it's going to be.... Not much use to you really....

Don`t be put of by the word Ally, it is not short for Aluminium but the word Alloy, meaning basically Aluminium and other materials mixed together to give a lightweight component with the wear properties of steel. The only difference you get is the weight of the item and the price.

The mileage will be similar and depend on how you look after your chain and sprockets as to how many miles this will be.

just popped a new one on mine, had no problems with the two before either ....
