Battery life with immobiliser switched on?

Anyone out there knows how long it will last? I sometimes need to go on business trips so I might not be able to ride it for as much as a month. I had alarm installed on my previous bike and that thing really sucks battery to dead.

Your comments are appreciated.

Why not hook the bike up to an Optimate. Just run the permanent cable from the battery through the frame so the plug is showing at the side of the fairing. Instant solution. When you park the bike up in the garage, connect it up and the battery will always be at peak charge.

Yep, optimate is the way forward...
Working away a lot myself, and on the occassions i get 'ome just go pick up the bike, unplug the optimate and a full charge is waiting for me to poke the button!
Sweet!!

Haven't noticed any decrease in overall battery life either, cos as I understand it a battery will stay good all the time it's got a full charge. Well worth shelling out fifty quid for IMO.
