Champion QA55V spark plugs
 

This might be of interest to all those who use these incredibly expensive plugs. I think even SPS bikes were supposed to have them. In any event, I found them on this French website for 20.90 Euros plus shipment. That's bluudy cheap!

But in the end I got mine from a BMW car place in Belgium as it was just down the road from my Sisters, and as my parents were visiting her shipping didn't come into it.

sorry to put up a stupid question , what difference do these plugs make,i ask because ive got a set sat in my tool box that only covered 15 mins riding before the motor fell to bits(2000 996 bp)

Mainly they are used in race spec engines, as they are a surface discharge type plug they reduce the risk of detonation that can be caused when the tip of a normal plug gets very hot from prolonged high revs, also you do not suffer the same spark errosion of the earth electrode as you would on a normal plug. In my road bikes I run NGK EV type plugs as these give a better spark than normal plugs, but the 955 Corse engine has the QA55Vs
