Tank removal

Hi,

Want to put a track day tank on me 996R. Bought a rough tank from 2001 748.
How to get the tanks swapped with as little hassle as possible? Preferablywith the possibility to swap them back once in a while.
Looking at the tanks they look identical. However the fuel line setup looks different (better?) on the R than for example on a 748 / 996S.
Is the pump the same?
What to do?

Have a look at the tech manuals on the Ducati website:
http://www.ducati.com/bikes/catalogs.jhtml

These give you the part numbers so you can compare.

I think the fuel coupling got revised later on, as they are notoriously easy to split the o-ring and lose fuel. You should just be able to replace the older coupling with the newer one...

Like hammers but not for this sort of work.Spoke to Rattler, agreed. Best move seems to be a second hand pump.
Anyone got one?
