Carbon

Hi
does anyone know the best way to repair cracked carbon fibre.?:(

If I'm not mistaken, there is no way to repair cracked carbon. Once all those fiber weaves become broken or separated, there is no going back. Sorry, but i have never found a way yet, only way i know, is buy a new one.

You can patch it with normal fiberglass matting but only at the back of the carbon so as it cannot be seen. eg on the underside on a hugger. If you finish with the fine matting and then paint the repair black it can look okay from the outside.

hope this helps, saves you some money!

You can patch it on the back and seal the top coat but its not very successful
realy when its gone its gone mate.

Have to disagree.

I've repaired several cracked carbon parts to the point where the repair is all but invisible to the naked eye. None of the parts have "re-cracked" after the repair. Takes ages, but a bit of time is usually cheaper than a new part.

What exactly are you needing repaired?

Neil.
