digi gear indicator Has anyone fitted one of these to their bike? if so where is the best place to fit? for easy viewing |
Not sure to which one you're referring. Most of the ones I've seen only work on bikes with electronic speedo as well as tacho (e.g. Japanese bikes, which drive the speedo from the gearbox). If you've found one that works on a Ducati, I'd be interested to know more about it. Cheers |
I'm about to try fitting an Acumen digi indicator to my old 900ss. The unit is available with a mechanical upgrade (like a pedal bike computer) that also provides a magnetic pulse from which ever wheel its mounted on. Fingers crossed..... http://www.acumen-electronics.co.uk/...mentation.html |
I think the common one seen in places like M&P etc. (Digi...something) can be bought for either electrical or mechanical input. The downside is that the mech one (needed for a Duke) is approx £95 as opposed to £50 for the electrical. But you can get them no porbs. [Edited on 5-4-2004 by Harv748] |
Yeah I have one fitted to my 998 - its an acumen one I picked up off ebay for 65 all in, works well except when the magnets in the discs fall out!! Got some replacements sent FOC so customer service is pretty good |
I have the datatool one fitted on my gsxr 600 which i find rather usefull. they do a kit for the mechanical type speedo. Just wondered best place to fit on the 996 so its easy to see. |
