tank swapping Ok folks, is it easy to swap my tank and pump for another? I have a new spare set for the track, but you all know how crap I am mechanically and I want to know whether I should give it a go or just find a nice bloke who is willing to help  |
what about pump though? that looks nasty to me!! i have a green seal kinda thing which I apparently need, but not really certain what I should be doing, will it be obvious if i have a look? |
nooo... i have a spare pump as well, but its not in the tank. So i have to put it in so that I can then swap the tanks easily :D |
tank swapping Probably in the same situation. Procedure would be appreciated (weeksy). Have the hammer ready. :o |
Oh god :( I can't do that :( Thanks Kev and Steve, but i just don't think me (or my nails) are up for that at the moment. Oh well, guess the track days will have to wait until I have the confidence to give it a go :( |
Lily Send me the tank, o-ring and pump and I will fit it, or I could sell you a yella 996 tank with a small dent and a couple of scuffs with a pump in it? If you want a laugh read my bit in the last pronto mag, you will know where the scuffs and dint came from then! |

and you think she'd send you her tank after that one???............'nuff said :lol::sing::P |
Be seeing you soon boy! :frog: |
Funnily enough I refitted pump assembly to my newly resprayed tank last night. It really is awkward as it tends to twist as it goes in. Plus there's a surprising amount of rust about in the flange / tank base. Today put some petrol in & started it up. No oil or water leaks but petrol everywhere. Off to Ducati Glasgow tomorrow for new O-ring.:( |
Yep Robbie, been there done that |
