greetings Just picked up my new red 999 on sunday, already had to make use of ducati assistance. (alarm) to see a new duke with 47 miles showing on the back of an AA wagon is criminal. hopefully thats my bad luck out of the way. Does it really need to be kept below 5500rpm like italia say or are they just covering their own backs? I need to let it have it! |
As read in several bike mags from reputable bike bods new bikes nowadays are best run by letting the bike rev freely through the gears (the odd bit over that rev limit you've been given won't do any harm ) with a lower grade oil for the first 500 or so miles to bed in then change for top spec oil at the first service the main thing with a new bike is not to let the engine labour when running in (this can cause the bores to glaze ) . oh welcome aboard too :o |
