Slight misfire (when raining?) During a track day last week, it was raining in the morning sessions, and my bike developed a slight misfire towards the end of the second session. As I pulled into the pits it cut out (which it never does) and when I tried to restart it, it was as if it was only firing on one cyclinder. After several attempts it started again...and after a bit of a blast up and down the paddock...it seemed to cure itself. It dried out in the afternoon, and I had no other problems with it? I don't ride my bike that often in the wet, but when I have I've had no problems before. Are dukes in anyway vunerable to the wet/moisture intake if its ****in' down or there is s alot of water on the road/track...or could it be something more sinister? It reminded me of when I used to own a 1971 mini, I never went anywhere without a can of WD40...just in case it rained:lol: Any ideas? |
First thing to check is the HT leads / caps. My bike had moisture on the inside of the rear cyclinder HT cap. Martin. |
Common fault Mart. Seen this on a few of my mates bikes but never had it myself. The 749S my mate has did it too soon after he bought it and that was the cause of it that time. |
