998 Front number board I know its been covered as to the merits of painting/sticker But i have decided to go for a sticker , after looking at the deep chips on the front of my bike So my Question is who has what make of number borad sticker & are you happy with it !!! |
Hello mate, I had the sticker for the front of the nose cone. I followed the instructions to the letter. Used the hair dryer to warm it and also made sure that the nose cone was properly degreased. I normaly have no problem putting stickers on things and painting bits and bobs. It looked quite cool and lined up really well. The bike was not ridden for a couple of days and I kept my eye on it. I then noticed that it started to lift at the bottom of the sticker. Try as i might, i could not get it to stick. :o All i can say is that the sticker came off really quick and it was off for a respray. I just put up with the stone chips now. Bit of character i suppose.:cool: |
Totto It was me that posted a couple of months back I still haven't decided on what to go for but looked at a few bikes at our Easter Sunday Mega meet and the stick on ones do look good, but I do take your point DARKCURSE |
dont they do a gel filled one?? |
numberboards hi totto ,i got my gel filled number boared kit from module@ mallusk £60 made by motografix check out "www.tankpads.com" they make them for most sports bikes not just ducati |
I've tried two ... and the second one I followed the instructions to the law. I degreased the nose .... and within two days it had lifted! Very warm summers days made it worse. So, in a final fit of peek, I ripped it off, and irony of irony, it took paint with it. If you are truely **** hot, have the matching Dainese and helmet, by all means do it. But painting looks 100% better ... If you are an average rider, number boards can make the bike a little bit Impreza STI .... |
Paint it! |
Thats a good job- who painted that & how mch was it? Did they leave the original red paint alone? |
ProTwins at Godstone, can`t say about the red paint but I thinkl they did. Its a first class job and it has been gel coated to match the original finish as well as the side panels, cost £200 and worth every penny. Yer pays yer money etc etc etc. |
