Right side clip on assembly I got the clutch side twisted for comfort at first service but have always forgotten about the brake side. Looks simple enough, i.e. loosen two allen keys and twist slightly until I get desired line up with my wrist, and tighten up again. I know there are some locator pins in there somewhere so was just wondering if someone could tell me definitively that it's easy! Thanks |
Might be wrong..but I think Nelly from Cornerspeed gave someone advice on this recently on the forum.. Nat |
You can't just slacken off the two bar pinch bolts and rotate the whole bar. The inner of the two pinch bolts passes through a groove in the bar which prohibits bar rotation - also stops the bar falling out if the pinch bolts slacken off for some reason. Unbolt the brake master from the bar, then either pull out the locating pin (good luck and you'll need vice grips at the least!!) or cut it off and file flush with the bar. Then simply bolt the brake master back on in the position of your choice. 15mins tops :D |
i done this at the weekend, what a difference!! yes the locating pin on the brake & clutch lever mounts needed cuttting off & filling. the limiting factor on how much you can pivot the levers down is the indicators. after riding this bike for about 5 years this free mod transforms the front ends feel & comfort!! |
I'll have a hack this weekend ready to feel comfortable zapping round at Cadwell |
Hack at the pins I mean as well as a blast on the bike! |

Lovely Jubbly........word of warning for any ignoramuses like me doing the job, be careful to sheath the wiring from the starter button whilst you hacksaw, one slip nearly cost me a very annoying trip to sort out cut wires, any old strong plastic or metal to put around the wire as you hack saw will give you piece of mind......thanks all. |
