I've had similar numerous problems with my Shogun which I bought brand new and is not 3yrs old until Sept this year. I've had 4 sets of wheels (and the paint's coming off again), 3 alarms, the brake discs have warped 3 times and have now been replaced, the radio LCD is now blanking out so needs replacing, 2 sun-roof motors, can't/don't want to remember any more as it depresses me. I've received a decent service from the dealer but I must admit, I won't be keeping it when the 3yr warranty is up and won't be buying another one. I couldn't afford to put right all the crap. I think it's just the luck of the draw. You either get a good one or a Friday afternoon one. You & me have got the latter obviously. How old is your car and how long ago did you buy it, and with what warranty given by the dealer? I'm sure they must just become immune to customers ranting & raving. Mind you the service manager at my Mitsubishi dealers has changed 3 times in the few years I have been going there. I know this won't help you, but I feel a lot better now knowing someone else wastes as much time as me taking the car in and out of the garage. FOR SALE : LWB shogun, still under warranty. One careful lady owner, lots of new bits!:saint:;) |
The service manager has been sacked in my case as well ! The warrenty is 4 years ( I think) , it has had at guess £3000 worth of warrenty work done already ! Its not that its not covered its the hassle it cause's , i had a replacement car the week my wife was in hospital giving birth to our second son  |
Depends how long you have had it. I read a thing in Used Buyer Guide the other day and that said if you bought from a garage and had problems within 6 months they had to either repair it at their cost or refund the vehicle. |
What if the dealer crashed into it when they had it in for it's 6 mth checkup? I've got a Puegeot 307 SW which we bought new end of last year. I had it in with Puegeot to give it the 6 mth checkup\service (was also the subject of a software recall due to some odomoeter issue - wasn't affecting mine but the headlights done come on automatically anymore :( ) and while they were moving it around in the carpark they crashed another car into it!! I couldn't believe it!!! It doesn't end there, the first repair job they did looked like it was done but the first year apprentice in his lunch break - paint overspray on black rubber between the panels and on the headlamp, panel fit all over the place. The service manager stopped returning my phone calls so I didn't return their loan car. Lucky my wife was in Oz at the time because we need the extra seats (4 kids) and the loan car was a 207! In the end I told them I wasn't having it back until all the panels and mounting brackets were replaced because they just didn't give a sh*te!!! I was SO annoyed it wasn't funny :flame: :flame: I'm NEVER going back to that dealership again - and now we have to go to another dealership to have the software looked at again to try and get our headlights turning on automatically again and to stop it making all these extra noises it makes when the parking sensor is on (reversing). :flame: :flame: :flame: :flame: I'm tempted to name them .... Sorry for venting on all you good people :frog: [Edited on 26-5-2004 by tp-996] |
I wish I'd known that when my Shogun was new. It would have saved me loads of hassle over the last two and a half years.:sniff: |
