999 with Ohlins settings Anybody have to hand their front settings on Ohlins forks? preload, rebound, compression |
Come on guys, dont you look at these things? |
Errrrrrrr we do look at posts But 999's with Ohlins? That would be the R then wouldn't it. Not a lot of us would have any experience of those now would we? |
and an S, and there's several of those! And even now some bp's! |
Standard settings per the Owner's Manual ... Compression 10 clicks from fully screwed in Rebound 12 clicks Preload 10mm There's no charge for this service :P |
I know i found the std setting very hard/uncomfortable, and i think so does Everton. which is why i asked. I have been to the ohlins guy that Mort reccomended, and he set my bike up for me. So ive compared these settings to the std. |
Sorry, I thought you wanted the standard settings! My own settings will be even less to use to you, as the front feels soft to me as standard! |
I have a 999s (Bip) and took it to Harris in Hertford to have it set up. They put softer springs in the forks (one step down) and backed off rebound two clicks. Preload is set at 11 and compression remains standard. At the time I was 13.5 stone and 6' if that helps. These settings feel OK to me but it is still a bit soft at the back and needs one level higher spring on the shock. Having said all that I still can't ride the thing as fast as it needs me to. |
Cheers Andyl, thats the sort of thing im looking for. |
Depending on your weight ideal fork springs if your around 12-13st 8.5 fork springs & 66kg rear spring on the rear set sag @ around 15mm run 16 clicks from max on rebound 15 on compression as a starting point front end you need to set sag @ 25-30mm and adjust rebound & compression to STD settings.
