First day back at work after New Year and I asked our resident "don't have a life" driver if he had a nice New Year.


"No he replied, all the bloody neighbours woke me up with fireworks at midnight"

Aww, bless! You've just got to wish that 2009 will be better for him than that, haven't you?

It could've been me that...I've had a heavy cold since about 2 weeks before Christmas. Getting a bit better by New Years Eve, but the effect of being run down for a few weeks meant I was well and truly bollixed and in bed with a Lemsip by 9:30 :(

Happy New Year anyway one and all

We celebrated twice out in Germany. The German midnight's fireworks went on for an hour. Then the English midnight's fireworks went on for a further three quarters of an hour. Doh!! marvellous but not sure the immediate German neighbours (not ours I hasten to add, we were round some friends) approved wholeheartedly :rolleyes:
