Can you tell what it is yet?

It is often said that the Americans and the Brits are two peoples divided by a common language. Frequently, also, the same holds true for the Aussies and other English-speaking peoples...so, what does an Antipodean mean by, "Budgie smuggler and thongs"? (And yes, thongs in the plural is correct) .

Budgie smugglers are speedo's(swimming trunks not what you got on yer bike) and thongs are flip flops(Footwear)

Whilst indelicate, the picture does give a rather good idea of where the term "budgie smugglers" came from, wouldn't you say?
