I would like to thank my 2009 Sponsors

With my place of work due to close in March 2010 I was intending to scale down my netries this year and just pick and choose a few meetings where I really like the track.

But due to the Halifax in association with the Bank of England coming to my aid by way of cutting interest rates and reducing my mortage by roughly an entry fee a month I hope to be at a few more meetings :)

Treasury Select Committee:lol:

If i'd had a bigger mortgage I may have saved enough to buy your bike, thankfully my mortgage isn't that big, repayments on it are adjusted yearly although the mortgage rate attributed to it can change several times through out the year, so sometimes I'm under paying or as in the last 6 months I was over paying. So now I get a nice little reduction

Kev your mortgage must be huge to get that much reduction!
It's all relative though I guess... my %age reduction equated to a couple of tanks of juice in the bike.

yup, all swings n roundabouts :) although i know i'd be saving a huge chunk if i was on base rate, i'm paying only a fraction more than when i was renting, and got an absolute deal on this place! (was sat empty for a year as a Northern Rock repo after there was a murder in the bedroom...)

Relative is the right word Nick, Oxford was never cheap, its all that student accommodation that's needed

It's only right the banks help out with entry fees.......after all we own most of 'em now.:D

Ray.

we had been told recently that the site may stay open beyond March 2010 as the goverment decomissioning department is short of funds and providing we remain profitable, which with the current economic climate was never going to be easy as a new replacement facility has already been built and taken about 40% of our income.

And now I have found out that someone at head office has sorted out a new Electricity supply deal, it may suit the parent company but on one of our machines I have worked out that its going to increase the annual Electricity bill by £55k, total extra cost through this new deal to our site will be in the region of £100k.

Somehow I think we'll be closing in March 2010, just hope they pay out the redundency I would be owed
