Rear wheel installation Afternoon all,Ive gone ahead and replaced the grey swingarm for the black boxtype version and all was going well until I came to putting the wheel back in and basically I'm stumped.. I believe all the spacers and the rear brake bracket are a straight forward swap!!!!so why won't it go in??? Any thoughts or suggestions would be a great help so I can get out on it |
Not done the conversion myself, but the wheel is a pretty tight fit in the later swingarm. You have'nt got a spacer the wrong way round,or summat dumb, have you? |
itll be down to your alignment of the calliper mount bracket. As you say all the spacers are the same, its just a knack of lining up the rear calliper to accept the disc and move to the right place...... |
thanks for the replys guys,I've been at it again tonight to no provail :-( can someone at some point have look and see if the spacer on the disc side goes flush within the wheel or slightly protruding out as this maybe what's stopping the bracket!!!! |
Are you sure the swingarm isn't bent? |
I don't think so I aquired it off a well known member off another forum.. |
for the sake of the two bolts why not take the rear calliper off and out of the equation, and see if the wheel fits first, you could always bolt the calliper on afterwards...... |

Yes I've also done that too and it does fit with enough room so I thought left for the caliper, but soon as the caliper comes into play it then shows that there isn't. I think it's resolved and will know in the morning,as i believe that maybe I havent hammered the bearings home enough so as to make the spacer flush inside the wheel instead of there being a lip which I think is obstructing the caliper.....will let you know |
All sorted this morning guys...me being a muppet didn't hammer home the new bearing correctly but now complete hoo ray Thanks to all those you helped with suggestions |
You owe me 30 seconds of my life, a G & T will do;) |
