election of london mayor - transport policies hi after just having been done for riding in a bus lane in london i decided to email the candidates for london mayor on their proposed transport policies specifically regarding motorcyclists. red kens current transport policy ignores us completely and he's been true to that with his reply to my email - ie none at all simon hughes however has responded ( or one of his people anyway!) with the following: "We believe in an integrated transport system, involving public transport along with car and motorcycle use. The major change for motorcyclists in our transport policies is that we will allow motorcycles to use all bus lanes all of the time. This should improve safety for motorcyclists an reduce congestion. We will also be keeping the current exemption of motorcycles from the congestion charge. Regards, Alastair Reed Policy & Information Officer London Lib Dems - Campaign 2004 Tel: 020 7340 4992" i know who'll be getting my vote! g |
You're not saying you BELIEVE what a politician says are you-how naive. I seem to remember our dear PM saying that they intended to 'make powered 2 wheelers an integral part of our transport policy' when he was pictured on a Triumph at the NEC show-load of bullshit that was as well. Bloody politicians. John |
