Swingarm torque settings Can anyone tell me the torque settings for my alloy swingarm pivot pin pinch bolts, and shock bolts. The bike is a 93 Superlight, and the swingarm is original. I have three manuals both the Haynes, and LT Snyder maintenance guide. None of these give a figure. I know these are known to crack if overtightened. Cheers, Rich |
M8 from memory but you are right no specific mention I can find in manuals either: http://www.geocities.com/edwyun/frames.html |
According to my Haynes Rear shock absorber upper mounting bolt 40 to 45 Nm Lower mounting bolt 35 to 38 Nm Swingarm pivot pin clamp bolts 34 to 37 Nm |
Yes 34 to 37 NM is the figure they give in the earlier Haynes. They don't say if that's for the alloy or steel swingarm. I have to take that as the figure for the steel, because the steel being more popular. In the later Haynes there's no torque figure at all, cheers |
I've just put new pinch bolts in my 800ss road bike's alloy arm. I used about 30Nm. It seems fine to me. |
