Oulton, my first too - thanks to Cleggy and Gordon Big thanks to all the DD people for making my introduction to racing a great one, especially Dom and Gord for their advice getting started. I can't say loud enough how much I enjoyed the day, Friday was a bit different though as it was my first time at Oulton and it was a very wet one eventually ending up with me binning it at Brittens in my last session! (muppet) Bike repaired I returned and did my qualifying for the allcomers, was really pleased to be only 1 place and 0.07s behind Harriet. Little did I know but she was only scrubbing in new tyres, male pride and ego received a huge kick to the nads. The race results proved beyond belief that this was something I'm gonna have to get very used to. My bike, nicknamed The Badger because of it's black and white colour scheme lived up to it's name by visiting the grass in each race, probably hunting for mice and voles, gave me results of 26th in the allcomers, 29th and 28th in the DD races. Not the most sparkling set of results but I went quicker each time I went out and didn't crash so I'm more than happy with the way things went. In the 2 DD races I had a real good scraps with Shane which both ended up with hand shakes and well dones in the pit lane, can't wait for 4 more at Cadwell when he's got his brake discs sorted. Does anyone know where I can see/get hold of photos from the meeting? I saw plenty of people taking them but can't seem to find any website with them on. See you all in 2 weeks, Scott and Badger #50 ps Condolences to Tony and RIP Lucie. Shep, the minute's silence was a very nice and impecably observed touch. |
