PC tip Having just had to replace the power supply in my p.c I was amazed just how much dust and fluff there was inside the unit. If your p.c is standing on the floor the fans suck in all the muck and this stops the thing from running cool. Worth giving it a hover out every now and then. |
I echo that. I took my CPU out into the garden and blasted it out with the compressor as the clumps of dust were wedged in places the hoover couldn't reach. You'll be amazed at the amount of it. Well worth the 5 minutes to keep your machine in fine fettle. |
What about laptops? My laptop runs really hot, every so often the fan goes berserk... Are they as easy to take the bottom off? |
just give it a blast with an air line. I've used my laptop at a number of enduro meetings this year, and the amount of dust it sucks in during the day is unbelievable. Same goes for pet hairs under the keys in the keyboard. The amount of hairs that came out of mine, you'd have thought the dog had been using it  |
You shouldn't use a hoover inside a pc as they can generated electrostatic discharge that can knacker your pc. Best to blow dust out whilst holding the hoover nozzle in the other hand to suck up the airborne dust. |
