Rethal bars on the ST Anybody done it, or tried and come across any problems. My first thoughts is that they need to be quite wide, so the levers do not hit the fairing, so l need to adapt brake line etc. So any advice or thoughts guys. Cheers John |
not being funny, why would you do that ? |

See my Advatar, having had a FJR, for real world road riding wide bars just make sense. I have bar risers, l was actually thinking of just to fit another set, double up, but the levers would hit fairing l think. Some might say get a multi strada, but l have stumpy legs:) The ST4s is awesome, but also with stumpy arms l tend to weight the front, and feel all the bumps. And if a make a effort not too, it feels so much better, hence the need for wide bars. |
LSL do a kit to fit the ST range.Looks like you get a new top yolk, bars and brake hose in the kit. http://www.spieglerusa.com/cfm/sbk.cfm |

Many Thanks for that, l have email them, as it says it needs mods to fairing and screen, l need to know how involved it is  John |
Ducati themselves make riser plates to sit under the existing bars, I did find a set on Ebay but they have gone missing now - sorry... Here are the plans to make your own however: http://www.ducatiwiki.net/index.php?title=Risers Giles also do a Variobar system that offers lots of adjustment. Cheers - Frank |
If you are still thinking of doing this[haven't yet], you could just get a monster upper triple clamp. add some bar backs from a different vendor and you should be pretty close. Just grind off the guage mounts if they interfere with your guages. Use them for something else if they don't. I had one off a 620 monster on mine for a while, but most of them will fit. |
the later ST3/4s ones went on the legs rather than the top yoke, so at least you can use these and get some adjustability. I've changed my yokes and fitted the above bars and have the original fairings still. I may have a set of raiser plates somewhere if that's the issue. |
