Clutch help urgently required

Hi
Ime due at mallory tomorrow and have just changed the clutch on my 996SPS but have a snag. I have put the new clutch plates and metal plates back in exactly as they came out. The sequence was 2 metal the sintered/metal so in all 10 metal plates and 8 sintered. The problem after tightening up the springs the last plate is out of the basket and the clutch lever is rock solid, is it just a question of bleeding the clutch.
Many Thanks
Wosser

Have you lined the pressure plate up correctly with the clutch spring dowels? There is a mark on the pressure plate and a corresponding mark on the correct dowel.Make sure they are together.

Whats the measurement from the face of the last plate to the face of the hub. Should be between 4-5mm. Also is it a slipper, if so do you know who's. Std plates will not fit STM clutchs. What is the overall pack thickness.

And of course the clutch plate pack on the SPS is different from that on the standard models.
But I'm sure you knew that already.

The dished plates must be fitted the right way round (both different).

Was that "the pressure plate WAS or WASN'T lined up correctly?"If it was, what was the problem?

I read "wasn't".
Didn't know about lining them up though, will be looking out for that when mine are due for swap! Ta Jasper!

Sorry that was a typo the pressure plate wasnt lined up with the marks, but fine now btw the standard plates for a 996 £88.00 , SPS ones (sintered) £160.00 I suppose I could have shopped around but didnt have any time
Thanks again
