SCAM warning from HMRC
 

Just had a chat with the tax office about a scam that's doing the rounds. You get a mail offering a refund on your last tax return. It links to a very convincing web page, correct links to HMRC site etc. Asking for credit card details so the refund can be made. Almost caught me until i checked the hyperlink on the submit button.
BEWARE!!

You as well! Luckily realised that I am more likely to owe HMRC than them owe me some money, so just binned it.

I've had a couple of emails along similar lines. The message did come over as being all above board etc but the title of the message had a spelling mistake so i knew it was a scam.They were offering me a tax refound.

Theres another one around at the mo telling you to log on as you are the subject of a underreported income enquiry.....

Tell tale of that one is that the 10 digit reference number is only 9 numbers and has UK after it....
