Rear sprocket carrier

Went to put a OE 38th rear sprocket on my 748r the other day,got carrier off,no probs, but when i went to undo the cush drives, the torx bit was just going around, coz the cheesy metal they are made from rounded off:(,in fact, some of the torx wasn't even there as it had melted/corroded away.So has anyone got any ideas how to release the drives from the carrier so i can replace the sprocket?Realise i will probably need new cush drives as well so any ideas best place to get these from?

When you say Torx, are you talking about in the rear of the cush drives? All the ones I've seen have been a 12mm allen key?
If you need new ones, drop me a mail. £40 a set

Yeah thats them, looked like a torx rather than an allen key, didn't matter coz either wouldn't fit anyway coz the metal's disapeared:mad:.Will let u know, how much to post?
cheers nelly

Bad luck PJ - another victim of Ducati chocolate component syndrome!

All I can suggest is to very carefully cut/grind them off unless you can undo them by clamping the cush outer in a vice, might be worth a try?

Good luck mate,

Neil.

Might take the carrier to work and try the vice,if that doesn't work i might get serious and use the Clan lucas hydraulic equipment(stuff we use for cutting people out of cars etc!!),if not i'll have to try and get a secondhand carrier:mad:
