Oil change question Just did my oil change w/ filter. Had the bike upright and let it drain till nothing fell out of the drain hole anymore. In the Haynes manual it says 4 litres of oil, is that right? I'm asking because i put in 3 litres, let it warm up for about 4 mins, then checked, its right at the full mark, where it should be. Weird, because the manual says 4 litres for my 2000 996 S. |
No,the oil capacity is 3.7 litres when bone dry.If you have'nt removed the filter, strainer and front cylinder exhuast rocker cover there is still around half a litre left in the motor.Your 3 litres to the full mark is about right. The correct oil capacity can be found on the techy pages on the Ducati website. |
Cool, thanks for the info, thought it was nothing to worry about, just thought i'd check to make sure. |
