Lap timmer

Hi,

has anyone used one of these? http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Motorc...r_Kit/454/1768

Can anyone recommend a good lap timmer that doesn't require a remortgage.

Thanks & regards,
Andy

I use the Otto laptimer. It picks up the beacon at the track and shows you your laptime just after you pass the beacon.

Good Points:
Cheap, works on the track beacon so you dont have to press a buton, at the end of the session you see the fastest lapas and then it shows you each kap time. Takes a 9v battery.

Bad Poins:
They dont always turn the beacon on at tracks, you have to mount the infra red pick up on the appropriate side of the bike (right for Mallory, left for Castle Coombe). Oh and during qualifying I managed a couple of sub 40s laps according to the lap timer which means theere were multiople beacons on. If you do a track day they may not turn the beacon on.

Cheaper options are push button timers, you can use these to check sections as well as laps.

More expensive are GPS based laptimers. They done need a beacon and can do whizzy fancy analysis but cost a shed load more.

Rollcentre also do similar spec laptimers to the Otto.

I've got an Alfano fun v2 they work off the magnetic strip in the track, you place the sensor in the belly pan.

I've got a rollcentre (200 I think?) in the garage that I no longer use - make me an offer if you're interested.
