Clutch woes

Hi all Advice desperately needed

Finally got the part time motocrosser back together and everything runs fine apart from the fact that the clutch seems not to engage properly. Bled everything 100 times but when the handle is back to the bar the wheel doesn't turn freely when on the stand and in gear.

I have the 95 ss with the clutch in the casing. Not the best spanner monkey by a long way and am all set for snetterton but don't fancy not havin a gear box. Any advice from those with the knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks:(

Whereabouts are you? I have a spare casing with slave cylinder and a spare black clutch master cylinder you could try in case one end is duff. (The m/cyl is the standard type with the built-in reservoir)
I can bring them to Snet if you let me know before Thursday.

Good luck, Paul

I have a set of plates which I think are for a 600. I could also bring to Snett if you like.

+ 1 on the spare set of plates. Will throw them in the snetterton box. My biting point is still a long way from where it should be. I replaced plates, replaced a bolt holding the slave cylinder as that was moving away from the housing and adjusted the clutch lever. Dont think I have cured the problem just working round it.

Mark.

Thanks Paul

I have a spare casing with the slave so will switch them over and give that a go. Was just checking I wasn't being a total numpty before tryin that.

See you at snett

And cheers both of you two guys for the offer on the plates. If the switching of the etc doesn't work I might have to buy those plates off of you so thanks again.

See ya there

I've got a whole stack of plates you can have FOC to hopefully make a decent pack out of them!

you could try bleeding at the m/cyl union 1st to make sure the m/cyl is correctly charged then bleed at the slave cyl, they are notorious for moving air up and down the pipe, also take the master cyl off the handlebars and put it below the casing (air goes up ) and bleed from the casing, one other trick is to tie the lever back to the bars and leave over night, all the best and see you all at snett,

Cheers Dave

Replaced the casing tonight and fixed another master cylinder to the old casing to push piston out and seal was knackered. Was making noises like an asthmatic bulldog. Thanks for the help guys and will see you all at snett. Hopefully with a working clutch now :D
