Thread Loss

No, I am not talking about what happened to the ass of my leathers at Anglesey, but something mysterious in DD Forum world.

I was going back to look for old race reports to remind me of my thoughts on Snett from last year, but there seems to be a glitch (on my screen anyway). Between the bottom of page 4 and the top of Page 5 I lose a whole year in the space of 3 threads.... Feb 2010 to July 2010 to Jan 2011. Did we really have so little to say, is there something odd going on with my browser, or have we lost a whole bunch of information?

Hmmmm, there seems to be quite a bit of DD stuff in the 2010 archive ???

likewise a little bit of early 2011!

Anything with a thread date started in 2010 was moved into the 2010 archives - this helps keep the site quick and relevant.

If there's anything that didn't get moved (ie, 2009, 2008 threads) then I'll need to move those too.

Does that explain?

It explains it, but I'm not sure I understand it. We have 75 pages in the forum dating back to 2004... And we have archived all of the stuff from last years racing? I would have thought the recent stuff should stay encase any random wannabe racers stumble across us. Because it looks now as if the forum was dead to racing last season.... Not very encouraging to anyone thinking of joining in.

Btw, that isn't meant in a moany way. I suppose I'm just suggesting I think it would be better to un-archive last season and archive 2009-2004.

Ok, point taken.

Normally all the forums are archived mid-way through the year to move just about everything into it's own forum. This keeps the forum working much better as there's not so many posts for it to churn through when people are only browsing the recent stuff.

Not sure if I can pick out the DD specific stuff, but I will take a look and see if I can do that.
