DD publicity.........a thought

After reading Ron's piece in the Mabeyhire newsletter (Nice one Ron:)) I logged onto Biksport news BSN to catch up the club scene. I see NGRRC, Derby Phoenix and Thunderpsort are well reported but nowt from Hottrax. Does anyone know if there is a reason why Hottrax dont send in an article and race results to BSN? Or can we do it ourselves as DD (we are racing via New Era MCC) and gain some publicity and interest from the racing public?

On that point, has a mag ever done an article on DD. Should be a good opportunity, get one of the journos a free ride in one of the races and get them to do a 4 page spread.

As the guys have said, we've had all the major bike magazines feature DD at some point over the last few years-
Marc Potter for MCN (Donington)
Michael Neeves for MCN (Donington)
Jamie Wilkins for Fast Bikes (Oulton)
Dale Lomas for Performance Bikes (Assen)
Rob Hoyles for Motorcycle Racer (Brands)
Mal Wheeler for Motorcycle Sport & Leisure (Cadwell)
and not forgetting both Ian Cobby and Harriet Ridley who rode in Class B for a couple of seasons and wrote for Rider's Digest and other magazines.

What would help is if we put out pre-written press releases of the race results to feed into the motorcycle press such as MCN and BSN. We used to do this before but that's not happening any more.

The problem is that all of these things, while simple, still means that someone has got to put the effort in to do it, and we're quite thin on people offering to help right now!

If you want to help, why not offer to write the press releases on a sunday after the racing and email them to the bike press? More than happy to give anyone some tips on this and set them up with the right resources.
