Neil - pm me what you are looking for; it will fit a monster if it fits an SS. Save me messing about...

I am looking to change the tank on my DD bike and looking through the DD tech regs tanks must be aluminium or steel if not OEM.

Is the reasoning behind this cost? As the ACU tech regs do not state what the material of construction should be for road racing machines.

Kev told me ACU forbid fibreglass as a tank. Ok as a cover, ala Senna's set up, but not a tank. Not sure about carbon???

There is nothing to all relating to material of construction for fuel tanks in the road racing technical specifications. There are for other catergories, but nowt for RR. My old aprilia framed supermono had a fibreglass tank that was used for the TT.

and yes, i would maybe use a fibreglass tank if the rules could be clarified. not this season, but next, if the rules could be changed so as to reflect the ACU handbook tech regs for road racing:)

get small tank and use a cover - less weight and much nicer look with almost no risk of smashing it up...something important to you :p

and unfortunately me too
