clutch grumbles

I've seen this subject covered on the 748/9** threads before but I've still got a problem.

Recently I've had the old problem of not being able to find neutral when the bike is stationary and generally clunky downshifts.

Taking some advice off the other thread I've fully bled the clutch and dialed the adjuster all the way in. No luck - I'm not getting enough pressure off the lever to hold the clutch in at all. When in gear with the clutch fully in it's still trying to drive forward.

On the paddock stand I rolled up a cardboard business card and wedged it behind the adjuster - hey presto it works again.

Any suggestions how to sort this problem out?

BTW - the clutch is a Ducati Performance slipper thats donw about 2k.

thanks in advance

sounds like there is still air in the system!!!!
i have to blead my clutch every time i go on the track..
is there a lot of freeplay at the lever?
this is a known problem but two trains of thought one says air is being pulled in from the slave cylinder end , the other says that the low head of fluid is allowing air to get into the mastercylinder on the return stroke.

Easy one this...... had the same problem with mine..... there is a 7mm bolt head behind the lever... just wind it out a few turns.... this will give you more pressure at the lever..... hope this helps

I dont know if you know but you can also bleed the line in the master cylinder.
undo the mc cover, pull in clutch and undo the 6mm hex bolt re tighten and release the lever ;)

thanks guys

I'll try your method tomorrow Dave - if that's a non starter then Karls method will have to be tried.

Failing that I'll have to see if there's a friendly spanner wizard out there I can tempt round with promises of cake & biscuits.
