Which Rear sets geting fed up with the standard footrests and am gonna get some with a bit more grip, have noticed that there are many on the market but which are best, or what advantages do they have over others. have noticed some appear to retain a gear linkage while others do not?? your views appreceated |
I've got the DP jobbies. They've got 2 positions for height, and the pedals are on cams so have some small adjustment for span, the pegs are fixed so they go some way towards acting as crash protection and they give pretty good grip. Only thing is, I can't change them to a reverse pattern shift. Oh, and they're pricey too! That's about all I got to say. Never was a very good writer!! [Edited on 27-6-2004 by NBs996] |
NB, Why can't you change to reverse shift? If it's DP rearsets, it's as simple as buying a reverse shift pedal. |
There's a reverse shift pedal??? I was just trying to use the one that came with them! I'll look into it....... any1 got a part number?? |
Nick, Part you want is 966056AAA "Complete Gear Change Pedal". This one works by connecting directly to the gearbox mount rather than using the pushrod, so you get the race-pattern gearbox instead. Catalogue is here: http://www.ducati.com/docs_it/bikes/...SBK_FSP_04.pdf |
PS. Check if Nattyboy has one in his parts dungeon! |
Bungi, I have Harris rearsets on mine - 2 height settings and the peg mounts rotate to give different height and distance forward/back. Gear lever has 2 holes for the pedal bit depending how far forward/back you have the pegs set. I've found them to be good so far, but make sure you threadlock the pegs in place or you may 'spin' one lose when you moved your foot forward or backwards quickly. Giles |
Thanks Ant..but alas no reverse shift pedal..!! I would recommend the harris ones..in black anodised finish..well made, and very durable finish. Would be weary of anything other than tried and tested stuff (DP/Harris etc) as ive seen a few (unknown brand) pairs go tatty quite quickly due to poor anodising. Another funky brand to check out is cyclecat (who are well known for there billet stuff)..beautifully made, and stu at spareshack has some blinding deals at the minute due to the US/UK exchnage rate. Good luck ! Nat |
D.P rear sets with reverse gear change...........................just go and do it ok! |
